Slope International seeks to provide young adults worldwide with interactive media content on global affairs. We believe that technology can be a powerful force for social change, as it can disseminate information to every country in the world. Our generation is generally regarded as apathetic, especially regarding politics and activism. We aim to destroy this assertion by showing that modern technology can unite students hoping for a better world.

Our mission statement stems from the core of our name, “Slope”. We believe that Slope Day is meaningful to the entire Cornell community because it is where we all come together to celebrate the end of an amazing year. Our goal is to be able to provide this same type of feeling on a daily basis to the community which is why we chose our slogan- “Slope Day, Every Day”. We want to represent the fun, the talent, the entertainment, and most importantly the sense of togetherness that is felt on all days at Cornell.

Cover Africa was founded in December 2006 because we felt that Cornell University, a premier university dedicated to producing globally conscious students, needed to take a more active role in prevention of a disease that takes the life of one African child every thirty seconds. Our goals are threefold: working to increase malaria awareness on campus and in Ithaca, strategizing to help prevent malaria, and distributing bed nets to those most in need. |
